I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed, an evaluator for the AKC Canine Good Citizen program, a professional member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, an active member of the APDT International's Membership Committee, a certificant of the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, a Supporting Member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, a member of the Pet Professional Guild, a member of the Old English Sheepdog Club of America and Twin Colonies Old English Sheepdog Club of Northern New Jersey. A lifelong animal lover, I have been teaching pet training classes for more than 20 years at local training facilities in NY and CT. I was the Training Coordinator for the Good Dog Foundation for Fairchester (Fairfield and Westchester Counties) from 1999-2002, and am currently an Administrator of the Pet Therapy Program at Kids in Crisis in Cos Cob, CT. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and numerous awards in Advertising Design, I put my creative talents to work in designing courses for all levels of my Agility for Fun classes. I also teach Good Manners and specialty classes, along with in-home private lessons. I am committed to only positive, force-free, dog-friendly training methods, which create a bond of trust and foster teamwork. Training is all about relationships and clear, two-way communication between handler and dog. I believe that training should always be enjoyable for both human and animal alike, and I interject humor and fun into all my training. Betsy lives with her husband, Will, and along with her son, James, are guardians of two Old English Sheepdogs, Ellie and Aero, and a rescued feral kitty named KitKat.
