I love helping pets and their people enjoy one another more. Having rescued most of my pets (and raised two puppies), I’ve experienced and overcome many of the problems and frustrations that my clients face. It feels great to: • see a crazy adolescent blossom into a sensible, mannerly adult, • help a rude foundling become a model citizen, • foster confidence in a dog who's afraid of the world, • teach a reactive dog to walk peacefully past another dog instead of barking and lunging. Helping you share that experience of success energizes me. I get a special kick out of hearing clients report that neighbors and family commented on the improvement in their dog! I’ve been training my own dogs since the age of ten and have been committed to using force free methods since 1998. I’ve experienced the social pleasures of participating with my dogs in service projects and group activities including nursing home visits with a certified therapy dog. I began teaching dog training in 1999 as an apprentice, and started Enjoyable Dogs in 2014 after earning my Training Partner certification with Karen Pryor Academy. Our understanding of how dogs learn continues to evolve. I continue to hone my skills through workshops, conferences and specialized certification programs, so that I can bring you the most up-to-date approaches to solving your dog behavior problems. With a Ph.D. in biology and a career in biomedical research in parallel to my dog training activities. I enjoy the synergy between my training in biological science and science-based approaches to dog training and behavior modification. I live in Lexington, KY and enjoy hiking and dog sport activities with my Australian Shepherds Molly and Bess.

Devin has been training dogs since 2011. She started her career at PetSmart and is currently an associate trainer at Bluegrass Dog Training Academy, which offers agility, rally, scent work, barn hunt, and obedience classes. She also works along side PetVet365 Pet Hospital as a behavior consultant.
