About

Claudia Sihler is certified by the CCPDT and the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. The Certification is: CPDT-KSA, IAABC-ADT (Internationally Accredited Dog Trainer). She is an expert in canine behavior modification and was for over 20 years the owner-operator of The Better Companion in Wasilla, Alaska, before handing it over to a younger crew. Dr. Sihler is originally from Germany, where she achieved a doctorate in veterinary medicine. After working briefly as a veterinarian, she moved in 1999 to Wasilla, Alaska, where in 2002 she opened the first private, full-time dog training business of Alaska, also being their lead trainer and behavior consultant. In 2024 a younger crew took over, while Claudia moved to Arizona and focused on remote training. Her business still focuses on force-free, positive reinforcement training and also mentors dog training students from the Animal Behavior College. Claudia also holds a Treibball Trainer certification in Germany and is a Fetch judge, a CGC® (Canine Good Citizen) and a STAR® Puppy evaluator with the AKC (American Kennel Club).
